UTCC Students Join Short-term Study Program at Yunnan Open University, Strengthening Global Competencies through Chinese Language and Cultural Immersion

University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) continues to expand international learning opportunities by sending students to participate in the Short-term Study Program – Experiencing Chinese Language and Culture at Yunnan Open University in Kunming, People’s Republic of China. The program was designed to enhance students’ Chinese language proficiency, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, and provide valuable international academic experiences through immersive learning and educational visits.

Held from 25 May to 3 June 2026, the 10-day, 9-night program was organized under the academic partnership between UTCC and Yunnan Open University. The initiative reflects both institutions’ shared commitment to promoting educational exchange, developing globally competent graduates, and strengthening mutual understanding between Thailand and China.

Throughout the program, UTCC students participated in intensive Chinese language classes taught by experienced faculty members from Yunnan Open University while engaging in a wide range of cultural learning activities. Through hands-on workshops, students explored traditional Chinese arts, customs, and heritage, gaining first-hand insight into the country’s rich cultural identity.

The program also featured educational excursions to significant landmarks and cultural attractions in Kunming, one of Southwest China’s leading centers for education, innovation, and economic development, as well as an important gateway connecting China with Southeast Asia. These field experiences enabled students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world cultural and social contexts, enriching their global perspectives.

Beyond language acquisition, the program empowered students to develop essential cross-cultural communication skills, adaptability, and international awareness—qualities that are increasingly valued in today’s interconnected global economy. By learning in an authentic Chinese environment, participants strengthened both their linguistic confidence and their ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
