University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) Leads 20 Selected OTOP Entrepreneurs to Participate in the “Heart to Heart Connection Program” in Yunnan, China, on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Thailand–China Diplomatic Relations, Elevating Community Products to the International Stage

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and China, Yunnan Open University, in collaboration withThe BeiJing Business People Association Thailand, Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM), The Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), Young Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce (YEC), and University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), led 20 selected OTOP entrepreneurs to participate in the opening day of the Heart to Heart Connection Program at Yunnan Open University in Kunming, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China. The program serves as a key initiative under Thailand–China collaboration and marks the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations: Thailand–China Celebration, with the aim of elevating Thai community products to the international market. The initiative aligns with the goals of Partnership for the Goals, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Sustainable Communities, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The official opening ceremony, held on 14 November 2025, was honored by the presence of senior executives from Yunnan Province, including:

  • Mr. Liu Gang, Member of the Party Leadership Group, Yunnan Provincial Department of Education;
  • Mr. Wang Yuan, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange;
  • Mr. Nian Huakun, from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Division, Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism;
  • Mr. Han Yi, Deputy Director of the Division of Foreign Economic Cooperation, Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce.
In addition, senior administrators from Yunnan Open University joined the event, including:
  • Mr. Yu Ganqian, President
  • Mr. Luo Guoquan, Secretary of the Party Committee
The ceremony also welcomed representatives from diplomatic and international partner institutions, including:
  • Ms. Siriwadee Ngamwiseschaikul, Deputy Consul-General, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kunming
    Consul-General representatives from Lao PDR, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam
  • Mr. Chai Thanichanun, Founding Chairman of The Beijing Business People Association Thailand
  • Representatives from partner universities, including IIC University of Technology (Cambodia) and Hanoi Open University (Vietnam)

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Chathip Tangkulpaisarn, Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Chamber of Commerce (YEC), delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the role of young entrepreneurs in driving Thailand’s economy onto the international stage. He also emphasized the importance of Thailand–China cooperation in expanding business opportunities into the Chinese market sustainably.

Following this, Dr. Sasirin Sayasonti, Vice President for International Relations at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), delivered a welcome address and expressed appreciation for the collaboration between UTCC and Yunnan Open University. She highlighted the overall efforts to strengthen the capacity of Thai entrepreneurs through the creative economy, the development of community products, and the support for OTOP entrepreneurs to prepare them for international markets. These initiatives align with the Sustainable Development Goals and reinforce Thailand–China relations on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations.

This marks a significant step in promoting the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs on the international stage under the rapidly growing Thailand–China cooperation. On this occasion, the 20 selected OTOP entrepreneurs from across the country showcased their community products, each reflecting the unique identity of their respective provinces, in a prominent display at the event, as follows:

All participating entrepreneurs showcased their products to interested visitors, business communities, and partner networks in China, providing opportunities for business negotiations and in-depth market exploration.

A New Milestone for Thai Community Products in the Chinese Market
The first day of the Heart to Heart Connection Program marked a significant step in expanding Thai community products into the Chinese market. It opened new market opportunities for Thai OTOP products, enhanced their competitiveness, and created sustainable economic opportunities for communities across the country.

Throughout the program, the initiative aims to lay the foundation for long-term cooperation in education, culture, and the creative economy between Thailand and China, an essential goal of contemporary international collaboration.
