UTCC Hosts Special Seminar - From Campus to Global Careers, Empowering Students for the International Stage

The Special Talk was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Weerachart Kilenthong, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research, who delivered the opening remarks and warmly welcomed the speaker and attendees. He emphasized the university’s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and global perspectives necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving international job market.

The event featured Mrs. Vibeke Lyssand Leirvåg, Chairwoman of the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT), as the keynote speaker. Drawing on her extensive experience working with international organizations, she shared valuable insights into career development, offering strategic perspectives on building a professional path from university life to employment in global companies.
Distinguished attendees included Dr. Sasirin Sayasonti, Vice President for International Relations at UTCC, Ms. Parichart Thammajinda, Head of International Relations,Mr. Mingliang Wang, Vice Dean of the Thai-Chinese International Management Institute and Dr. Nipon Chuamuangphan, Director of B.A., Tourism and Hospitality Management (International Program)
A key highlight of the session was the emphasis on internships as a critical first step in career development. The speaker underscored the importance of hands-on experience in helping students understand the professional world, explore their interests, and develop skills beyond the classroom. Students were encouraged to proactively seek opportunities and to take initiative without waiting until they felt “perfectly ready.”
